About the Journal

Focus and scope

Antropología Cuadernos de Investigación is a publication by the School of Anthropology of the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador. It began as a periodical publication in 1983 and until the year 2008 seven numbers were published. In the year 2009 its publication with the current format is restarted and since 2014 it becomes a semestral publication. Its editorial structure includes the sections: Presentation, Theme, Proposals, Documents and Testimonies, Ethnography, Scientific and Academic Notes, Obituaries and Book Reviews.

The aim of the journal is to disseminate original theoretical and empirical studies of the various fields of anthropology, archaeology and related sciences of Ecuador and Latin America.

 

Target audience

The journal is aimed at social scientists and the general community interested in the reality and social, cultural, and historical problems of Ecuador and Latin America.

 

Periodicity

The magazine is published twice a year in the periods February-July and August-January.

 

Open access policy
 
The journal Antropología Cuadernos de investigacion adheres to the DOAJ definition of open access. For this reason, the content published in the magazine can be accessed free of charge immediately by every user without financial, legal or technical barriers, in order to use the information for any responsible purpose with appropriate recognition of authorship. Any user may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full text of the articles published in the journal, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software or use them for any other legal purpose.

Antropología Cuadernos de Investigación operates under  Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license. This license allows you to copy and redistribute the material in any medium and format, adapt it, transform it, and build from the material for any purpose (including commercial) provided that copyright is appropriately attributed, i.e. to give the appropriate credit of copyright, provide a link to the license and indicate whether changes have been made to the content. The copyright is the exclusive property of the authors and authors without any restriction of their intellectual property. The authors and authors are free to disseminate their article in any other medium, institutional repository, in a book or magazine, if it is noted that the article was first published in the Journal of Anthropology, number, year of publication, section and number of pages. The article may be deposited in such repositories in any of its versions, whether in the version submitted, accepted, or published.

 

Rate of rejection

In 2018, the Antropología Cuadernos de Investigación journal had a rejection rate of 29%, which means that 71% of articles received were approved.

 

Fees

The magazine does not charge any fees for the processing or publication of articles.

 

Plagiarism

The papers submitted to the journal Antropología Cuadernos de Investgación are reviewed using the Turnitin plagiarism control system. This system detects the percentage of similarity of the article when comparing it with other online articles. This information is analyzed and, if plagiarism is discovered, the article is automatically rejected.
