Abstract

This analysis focuses on exploring social vulnerability in migratory processes from an affective perspective that connects the subjective dimensions of gender. Through a critical review and a qualitative methodology, it examines the intersections between mobility and gender, revisiting and updating conceptual frameworks centered on women’s experiences during migration. The central question guiding this study is: What are the narratives of social vulnerability shared by migrant women on their journey from Mexico to the United States? The primary objective is to analyze how the narrative of vulnerability is constructed, along with its cultural references, within feminized mobility trajectories. To achieve this, the study focuses on five migrant women’s experiences, employing a qualitative cohort methodology that prioritizes an epistemology of storytelling, delving into their processes of transit, lived experiences, and emotions related to migration.
